Sencha Yabukita is the most widespread tea cultivar in Japan. The leaves used to produce the sencha can only be harvested for a short time each spring.
Houjicha is a Japanese green tea. It differs from other Japanese green teas because it is also finally roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal. The tea is roasted at a high temperature, as a result of which it also reduces the caffeine content. This procedure was first performed in Kyoto, Japan.
Genmaicha Yukihime is a tea mixed with roasted brown rice in a ratio of 1: 1. Sometimes it is also called "popcorn tea" because some grains of rice crack during roasting and resemble popcorn.

Enjoy the Sake festival at home!
We would like to introduce you to our cozy cafe and Japanese-style tea house in Bratislava - Matsu.
We have been running our small specialized cafe/tea house for an incredible 3 years. In 2020, traditionally, as every year, we wanted to organize a Sake festival for Sake lovers and curious people who haven't got a chance to encounter this exotic alcoholic beverage. Because there has been a pandemic with us since last year, we haven't been able to hold the festival. Therefore we have a lot of Sake left in our warehouse, it would be a shame if it would just go to waste, and we would like to offer it to you, our customers, along with other Matsu products!
What does "Matsu" mean? Always green coniferous pine, which you can also see in our logo. In Japanese culture, pine represents longevity, happiness, stability and is usually associated with virtue and longevity.
Thanks to Matsu, we wanted to bring a piece of Japan to Bratislava. Therefore, we offer specialty coffee and Japanese sake or dishes such as onigiri, mochi, and many others. Our customers also fell in love - Matcha green tea. This fine powder, made from ground tea leaves, has a sweet-bitter taste and a deep green color. The specific form of cultivation contains a higher amount of natural antioxidants, caffeine, and theanine. Matcha we offer is imported directly from Japan, grown in Ariake, Kagoshima, and processed by stone mills in Uji, Kyoto.
With this project, we are trying to help Matsu and bring the extraordinary taste of Japan a little bit closer to you. You will show us huge support by purchasing the rewards. Should we collect more than the target amount, we will use all resources to improve space and menu.
