Cricket: "Wow, remember when we used to release a CD a year?"

Snail: "Well, keep in mind we moved, the kids, and, of course, now the Corona Virus..."

Cricket: "Yes, but people still keep asking about a new CD..."

Snail: "Well, we've got the music, the time, and place..."

YOUR HELP! We are very excited to make our dream of finally releasing a new CD a reality! The CD will be called "Points on the Map of Heaven" and it will have all the great pieces that you've been hearing us play on it!

This is how listeners describe the music of the violin/accordion duo Cricket & Snail, who play an enchanting mix of French, Klezmer, Celtic and original music. Furthermore, their playing somehow goes beyong these genres. James' accordion playing always surprises audiences with its nuance and Lucie's violin playing is heartfelt and breathtaking! Their expressive performances and skillful arrangements have insprired title of their upcoming CD "Points on the Map of Heaven." The points are their pieces, each leading to something transcendent.

Fans are begging for a new CD! It has been 5 years since their last release. The financial burdens of the duo's recent move from the US to the Czech Republic and the Corona Virus have also made it necessary, more now than ever, for supporters to help fund their new CD.

The Hithit project will cover all the costs, including studio recording, mixing and mastering. It will also pay for the making of 500 CDs, the licensing of 6 songs and digital distribution. Here are the details of our budget:

Production of 500 CDs (GZProduction)               = 21,170 CZK

Digital Distribution (CD Baby):                             = 2,050 CZK

Licensing (6 songs@EasySong Licensing)         = 16,100 CZK

Recording studio/engineer/mastering services   = 22,900 CZK 

Hithit fees (9%)                                                   = 5,600 CZK

Cricket and Snail is a violin-accordion duo from the U.S. now living in Prague, CZ that performs an eclectic mix of classical, early twentieth-century popular and folk musical styles that transport their listeners to such exotic places as a French cafe, a Celtic dance or a Jewish wedding. While violinist Lucie Carlson and accordionist James Carlson are classically trained musicians and composers, they formed their duo because they wanted to make music that was freer from the boundaries of the concert hall. Whether playing on stage, in a cafe or on the streets of Prague, they always impress their listeners with the expressiveness of their playing, their original compositions and the surprising beauty of sound that their instruments make when combined.
