We would like to produce an amplifier for electric guitar in the form of a kit. The amplifier is practically a necessity for the guitarist and the tube sound is essential. Support our project and we will amplify your musical experiments.

All or nothing. Project finished on Feb 22, 2019 at 21:09.
I have been doing amplifiers during the communism era for musicians who could not buy the apparatus in our country or abroad, where they could not travel or just did not have the money. Nowadays, there is full internet of amps, but a knowledge, how it all works, is missing. When we got a few lamps several years ago, we decided to manufacture a small guitar amp. We built the first prototype and the result was surprisingly good. So we constructed the second and third versions on which we fine-tuned the design. After a short test of the amplifier, we realized that amateur musicians, DIY and other people from the music community might be interested in such amplifier. So we did a series of multiple amplifiers to verify repeatability of sound. Several musicians played on these amplifiers and were surprised and pleased. They agreed that the amplifier plays well.
Our goal is to start producing and selling the kit of a small tube amplifier for electric guitar. Of course, with the high-quality design and the characteristic "tube" sound. The kit will include everything needed to build a complete amplifier: electronics, potentiometers, transformers, connectors, etc., including parts of the case, knobs and also user guide instructions. Why a kit? Because it allows enthusiasts, hobbyists, and musicians to engage in the process of building their own apparatus.
The amplifier is designed as a low-power guitar gear designed for home training or musical production in pubs and bars. But it mainly targets the fans of warm sounds of vacuum tubes, amateur musicians, DIY, enthusiasts. The amplifier is single-channel, but it includes a footswitch for a solo play, two kinds of crunch sound, a headphone output, and speaker output. The dimensions are really pocket size: 105 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm. The customer can choose from three versions of the kit: Mini (without magic eye and foot pedal), Normal (with foot pedal), Maxi (with magic eye and foot pedal). We want to provide an open platform for sharing information (schematics, descriptions, instructions, etc.) among users via our upcoming web site. Users will obtain free access to schematics, instructions, technical information, and enhancements. We plan to continue developing the amplifier and allow individual sound adjustments, according to the "ear" of each musician, using additional modules. To prepare the production of the amplifier kit (including documentation, instructions, packaging, distribution) and the web, we will need money. We will then turn to the potential buyers and the public, asking for the project support by sending a financial sum. We assume that if our goals are met, we will be able to supply the kit no later than 6 months after the end of the project. For all who support us, we have prepared gifts and limited, special edition Tekto 5 amplifiers.
Sound:
Classical sound of a tube amplifier. Normal / Gain switch causes a change in gain and thus less or strong distortion. The distortion rate is set by the Gain potentiometer.
Parameters
Power: 4 - 4.5 W
Controls, Inputs and Outputs - Front Panel:
• Check light
• 230V ON / OFF switch
• Volume
• Tone
• Gain
• Normal / Gain switch
• Hi input
• Lo input
Controls, Inputs and Outputs - Rear Panel:
• 230V socket
• Fuse
• Input for switching Normal / Gain footswitch
• Headphone Output 50 Ohm (this output can also be used as line output)
• 8 ohm speaker output
Design:
Dimensions approx. 105 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm, metal case, front panel clear, clear smoke, possibly with frost surface.
Now, as everyone can build own 3D printer and can use open source and free information, we want to introduce a new, purely Czech platform for musicians and enthusiasts who will work together to develop and share their ideas.
This is how the amplifiers from the prototype Cry blue 5 series (now Tekto 5) with the speaker box at one of our friends. Reprobox is the original VOX, but replaces the 16 Ohm original 8 Ohm speaker. It plays great.
MoreThis is how the new Tekto 5 chassis and cabinet design will look like for 2019. The demonstrations will follow.
