For the exhibition in October 2018 Pavel has already created more pieces than the gallery can hold. With your support we can get Pavel’s work from iPad to paper and create this rare event. With extra proceed, we can give opportunities to more artists.

About Pavel
My brother Pavel Hudec is a great musician with a massive potential. He is in the final year of studying double bass at the University in Germany after graduating from Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, for several years in the European Union Youth Orchestra , first professional experience in the Czech philharmonic and the Staatsorchester Stuttgart. Now he has a little bad luck because before he wins all those auditions in the dream philharmonic orchestra all over the world, he must join few 'chemo parties' and unfortunately he is not allowed to bring his huge musical instrument to the hospital.
However he is lucky at the same time because his third biggest love of his life (right after his girlfriend Claudia and music of course) is drawing. He started drawing as a child and kept going as a teenager. Later on he got into trouble because he started skipping his art lessons and his teacher reported it to his parents with suspicion of drugs or alcohol. The teacher wasn't wrong – Pavel at that time was 'getting high' on music and secretly was preparing for the audition for The Prague Conservatoire. Drawing had to snooze for a while and woke up again with Pavel's friend's offer to create a comic book together It triggered Pavel´s return to the topics of his first creations, only in a slightly different form. Pencils, charcoals, pens and pastels make a huge mess. The comic book was a great impulse for Pavel to start drawing again and iPad was a perfect tool for him.
In last few months, all of his three loves mutually balanced and finally synchronised. Although Pavel had to put his double bass bow aside for a while, the iPad and Claudia are both allowed to the hospital. And we can all enjoy the music at the opening night for his exhibition.
About exhibiton
"There is no real asset to the artistic world in Pavel's drawings." Such and other similar “motivating” reviews he heard from the experts. Which is great, because that´s why, in his work, he may not feel to be indebted to the artistic world or mankind and can freely continue to do what just loves while having fun. Pavel has always been a classic art fanatic and doing strange things his entire life – dressing up in renaissance costumes, building baroque paper castles and instead of the punk he whistling Bach and Handel.
The same time periods have been the key inspiration in his artistic creation. His biggest inspiration is the pure beauty of renaissance art linked with the wild fantasy of the baroque. At the exhibition you will see examples of Pavel´s comic book creation inspired by his colleague and friend Adam Straňavský.
All raised money will go towards the exhibition (prints, adjustments and installation), gallery rent and the opening night. All this of course in the music spirit.
What happens if we raise more money than needed?
We will make a beautiful exhibition no matter what. With your help, we will make a breath professionally organised exhibition. And if you can help even more, we will donate the remaining money to the gallery to organise another beautiful exhibition for other artists.
About the gallery that connects the worlds of healthy and ill
Project 'Gallery for cancer patients' is the only one of this nature in Czech republic, European Union (and even in the world). It has been already helping people fighting serious illnesses in a little bit different way for over 5 years. This project increases the visibility of artistic activities of oncology patients by getting rid of the taboo word 'cancer' and giving back to those who actively form the "face" of it. It helps and motivates everyone who suffered from a serious illness and never got a chance to present their art work due the social separation.
Gallery unites all those who belong together or who want to help the others It's about motivation (therapeutic), human and natural form of support. The author Irene Kraft is director and founder of Art against cancer. A non-profit project is under the patronage of prof. Mudr. Koutecký, DrSc prof. Klene, prof. Starý, doc. Kotalík, Meda Mládková and other personalities.
