Are you using parabens to preserve your products?
No, we are not using any preservative from paraben group (methylparaben, ethylparaben etc.) because they can cause allergy (contact dermatitis) and some studies show they can act as endocrine disruptors.
However, every cosmetic product containing water has to be preserved to have reasonable shelf-life (believe me, you don't want to share your cosmetics with happy microorganisms). We have decided not to go ultra-bio-natural since these preservatives are not working so well and we would have formulation we are not happy with.
We have decided to use phenoxyethanol which is a good compromise. This pleasantly smelling substance is naturally occurring in green tea and endive and is quickly removed from the organism. We are using only the minimal quantity needed for safety of our products.
Do you have paraffin in your products?
No, we do not use paraffin in our products. It remains on the surface of the skin which prevents active ingredients to do their job. We are using high quality vegetable oils as a base.
Are your products tested on animals?
No, we are not testing on animals. In fact, cosmetics in EU cannot be tested on animals at all. We do not need any cruelty-free certification for this. We were cruel to our families, friends, neighbours etc.
Are your products legal?
CBD is isolated from organically grown legal hemp registered in EU. Products do not contain THC. Terpenes are re-created from natural sources. Generally, our products are legal all over the world.
Is your product manufactured under GMP?
Yes, every cosmetic product sold in EU has to be manufactured according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), under ISO 22716 to ensure safety of the product.
Are you using nanomaterials in your products?
No. We don’t need them to achieve effects described and they could introduce unnecessary risks.
Are there any GMOs in your products?
No, our products don’t contain any GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms). We believe that what took eons of natural evolution cannot be changed overnight without unnecessary risks for people or environment.
Where it will be produced?
We are planning initial production in the EU. However, if there will be any problem shipping to US we will find second producer directly in US. We are targeting to comply both with US and EU cosmetic regulations since the very beginning.
Is there a risk of allergic reaction?
There is always a risk of allergic reaction to some component of a cosmetic product. We were avoiding known allergens where possible (i.e. not using parabens as preservatives). However, some terpenes are commonly used in cosmetics as perfuming agents. If you experienced any allergic reaction to perfuming in cosmetics you should be careful and test our products first on a small area of your skin.
