All or nothing. Project finished on Apr 2, 2017 at 12:51.
We were once sitting over a cup of coffee with my manager Anežka, I was writing down tour dates into my diary and suddenly Anežka asked me: “How are you going to perform it anyways?”
So far, my concerts have been all about me holding a mic in my hand and dancing around the stage. Though what I had in mind was a spectacular audiovisual show with a live musical performance. The dates for shows are getting closer and closer, great ideas are stacking up, but my piggy bank is as empty as ever.
“What about Hithit?” Anežka suggested.
At first it seemed impossible and useless to us, but the more we thought about it, the more sense it all made and in the end, it came off as an excellent idea and now we’re here!
Our goal is to collect enough money to buy basic hardware, namely MacBook Pro. This device and its OS is crucial for flawless live performing as well as for running the software we need. Of course the portability of the machine is very important too. Currently there is a small studio set in my apartment, but it’s not really portable and not even mine which is not an ideal solution for the future.
Your contribution is also going to support a young woman in the Czech music business. It is no secret that women are heavily outnumbered by men in this industry. Your help can make a difference though! A part of this project is also to support other girls and women who just need some encouragement so that they can fully and without any stress pursue something as beautiful and inspiring as making music.
A majority of people know me under my artistic and Internet pseudonym Zagami Jericha, but my real name is Lenka Šimůnková. I was born in 1999 in Prague. My mother is a dressmaker, father a musician. I was four when I first laid fingers on the keys of the keyboard and at six I wrote my first song Autumn’s already here (Podzim už je tu).
Since then, music has become a big part of my life. I have been writing my own lyrics, I’ve had piano lessons, even though I wasn’t a big fan of that. When I was fifteen, I published my music on the Internet and formed a small, but honest fanbase. It was time to take it seriously.
Two years later, I released a self-financed debut album City is My Church. The public response was almost instant. One of the tracks called AK got me a wildcard into the talent hunting show Startér on radio Wave and also a nomination for the Discovery of the Year in the alternative music awards Vinyla.
Music means the world for me. There’re so many ideas for lyrics, melodies, artworks and live shows popping in my head every single day. Electronic music is a wonderful world I can run away to and get lost in just to come back to reality as a tough knight yielding a mega sword – prepared for anything. Music is a way to express myself, it’s a way of exploring my inner self, from superficial matters to deep thoughts about the essence of humanity and human existence and soul.
Maybe my previous activity on the Czech web is also worth mentioning. Do I remind you of someone? In 2011, I made a video For the enemies of House music. Enjoy a little throwback:
