How it started

It all began in January 2014 when I got on a plane to the Cape Verde Islands. A month before I finished my  job and began a new part of my life. Full of traveling and exploring new places. My boyfriend is a kiteboarding instructor for the winter just left Cape Verde - Sal island. There I began to learn kite. A place full of wind and waves. And there I was in this sport and lifestyle in love. On most watersports wetsuit is necessary if the water is not just a tropical temperature. So I, equipped with this "becoming" suit, jumped into the waves. Instead of enjoying a ride, whole time I rolled over trousers down and dealt to me strangling the neck. Additionally, water wasn't as cold as looked :-) I thought about cutting off legs and who knows what. Additionally, at baggy neoprene most of us girls looks like a seal. After three months, when we returned home to Czech Republic, I started looking for new becoming wetsuit, but I ran into the same problem. Ridden, not much color.

I started looking for suppliers of materials, sewing the first samples, tested. Long and not always the easy way. In the beginning I invested all of my savings. But they soon began to running, and I needed to try and sew the other pieces.

At the beginning of 2015 visited us in Cape Verde our friend with her son - both kiters. I talk about Swell always with great enthusiasm and she decided to help me. With borrowed money, I created the entire current collection. I had it for 45 days. During that time I have traveled many kilometers, I stayed awake many nights and drank many cups of coffee. I posed for the entire collection and let it into the world. I'm happy. The result is perfect, and I think I can be proud.

What is our goal?

Swell extend beyond the borders of the Czech Republic and to prove that it's not about the place of production and size, but about ideas and people. Women neoprene in various thicknesses, longer versions and new motives. Start of the men's wetsuits, neoprene expand the range of types of materials, tops, shirts, beach ponchos .... It is a lot, and it's waiting for implementation.

Details

After the experience with classic black, wrong fitted wetsuit, I embarked on our own designs and production of color and sexy girlish wetsuits. I would like to prove that even without the seas and oceans, we can here at home form great wetsuits for all water sports (surf, kite, wake, windsurf ...). Currently out the latest collections, shining with colors and hand-painted motifs. I try everything on myself, I spend a lot of time at sea, and so we were able to achieve a perfectly-fitting cut. The current collection includes caps with handheld graphics, as painted and crochet tops, which makes my mom, practical waterproof bags, which can be used for anything. I have a head full of ideas, where Swell continued to move and what to create. Production takes place is in the Czech Republic, every hand that can be attributed I know. I'm doing the project with great love and energy, and each piece, I send me to leave with the idea that I'd like to let it.

... And then some

Motto of the new collection is "Surf With Endless Love" which is the energy with which we do it. Production takes place is in the Czech Republic and so it will remain, no Asia.

Who we are?

Stepanka Lechnyrova - Founder, tester, graphic artist. Years ago, I focused on creative work produced zipper jewelery under the name Nababu. I underwent several design markets, a fashion show with my friend designer. Jewelry had a fantastic response. Perhaps even more than I expected. At that time I did everything with my main job, and it was not possible at this pace prosecute. With Nababu I ended up farther and selling advertising. It's been a year and a half since I left the job and started living my dream. Swell is for me as a child, which is dedicated to the maximum of his birth.

Vlasta - men's element of Swell, is currently engaged with the men's section. And in the first place, thanks to him I started. Because I met him, fell in love with him even in his next love - ocean, waves and wind.

Helena, Magda, Martina - sewing team, now just "rented", but maybe one day .. Every doing something else together are a great team who are trying to implement everything I come to them.

Why are we doing this?

Over the acquired funds would buy a sewing machine flatlock, which is the best stitch for sewing wetsuits. The price is around 100 000 CZK. We would like to buy another material, extended range, technique (cutting plotter). The more you invest to us mean more we can do for future.
