Imaginations are multi-genre, site-specific performances / similar to Cirque du Soleil/ that uses the unique atmosphere of night parks and the city scenery of Košice. It is free of charge and open air project created by artists from all over Europe.

How did it start?

Project Imaginations is inovative continuation of the Independent theatres festival organized by non profit organization Old Town Theatre between the years 1998 - 2009. Thanks to this festival we were able to promote more than 250 multi-genres performances and 100 theatres from all over Europe and the world. Some of those theatres performed spectacular performances of noveau cirque (contemporary circus).

It fascinated not just our audience but also ourselves. So we came up with the unique project: Imaginations

What is it?

It is not a typical festival. Imaginations are not about prepared, already showed performances many times before. Our performance is trained and finished durning 10 days long workshop before event itself. Each year - different story , each city- unique story adapted to local conditions.

We are creating a compact performance where audience is moving with actors through emotional story and night scenes.

Imaginations are draging audience into dreamy and magical world of fantasies created by aero-acrobacy, dance, live music, fireshow, animals, video-projection, collosal puppets, jugglers and stilts walkers. We are also cooperating with elite artists, craftmen, collectors and sportsmen from all over Europe.

Our pernament partners and co-creators are Czech NGO´s ArtPrometheus, VOSA, LVC, Decalages, Anamitas and perfect Slovak dancers from Outbreak, Bobalet and Aratron Aspis duo.

Preparations and developing of one new Imaginations takes about one year.

For massive interest of our audience and artistic professionality we were chosen as one of the key events of award Košice - European Capital of Culture 2013.

Imaginations in numbers:

Why do we organize Imaginations?

Emotions, adrenaline, excitement, positive feedback from spectators and artists
We are the reason why many people from different cities and countries are comming to Košice
We want to continute a 5 years tradition and please our fans
We want to fulfill the expectations of the people that are waiting for next performance
Imaginations presents the primary and also unique contact with different kinds of art for many visitors
We are pleased by reviving parks and various scenes in Košice. We want to come up with new show to the places we performed before and maybe one day - to bring Imaginations to your city.

Why crowdfunding?

We are NGO with no employees and with no own space. Number and scale of our performances depends from the fact, how much finance we are able to fundraise. Whole project is funded by sponsors and from grants. Despite of that - we are not able to cover all needed costs.

We wants to keep our project free and open for all people. If we will be not successfull, we cannot organize Imaginations ....

And this is the reason why we need your help.

After the very first performance, angry man (apx. 30 years old) came to me: "So you are the author! So this is theatre?" I said: Yes, I´m the author and this is theatre: here are the actors, orchestra, puppiets, balet etc."
